Sony PSP versus Nintendo DS Lite UPDATE
_Mr. Buduhan By Roland Buduhan on Wednesday, December 19, 2007

Wow,

The debate about what is better, the Sony PSP-2000 or the Nintendo DS Lite was the most popular topic in this blog so far.  Twenty five people registered their thoughts and opinions.

I appreciate everyone's comments, and thank you for being respectful of other people's views.

I was lucky enough to receive a Sony PSP-2000 for my birthday, so I have both systems.  Here's what I think:

They both have their strengths and weaknesses.  I love the PSP for its excellent graphics.  The DS Lite does not come close.

But I have to admit that so far the games on the DS Lite are more fun.  The games I have played on the PSP seem so serious, while DS Lite games are funny, colourful, and easy to play.  That's another difference I noticed: The games on the PSP so far are MUCH harder than on the DS Lite.

Fifa 07 on the DS Lite was too easy f ...

the eee pc
_Mr. Buduhan By Roland Buduhan on Wednesday, December 19, 2007

I am posting this entry from a EEE pc laptop. A computer teacher let me borrow it, and so far it's a joy to use. I am finding the keyboard is a little small and takes some getting used to.
The screen is seven inches, a little small, but it works fine.  It has a 4 gigabyte "flash-based" memory, meaning there is no spinning hard drive and no noisy fan: It is completely silent! It uses an operating system from Linux which is much faster than any other system I've used. And, it only costs $400! Most laptops cost well over $1000.
It looks like a larger iPod, or a smaller MacBook laptop. It looks really cool!
Is this the way  of the future for computing? Smaller is better? Simpler is better? We'll find out.
So far, I am impressed with this little laptop. Very cool!
The school has purchased one to tes ...

Ms. Elkins Homework Archive 2007-2008 By elkina@sjr.mb.ca on 12/13/2007 8:48 AM

1. Study for circulatory system quiz tomorrow.

2. Music: a) complete concert reflection and b) complete goal sheet

Homework for the Winter Break: Read chapters 4-6 in your S.S. textbok before Jan. 8. Today's notice of this homework will give you 3 and a half weeks to complete it. There is a lot of reading required in Term 2 for S.S., and having read the chapters ahead of time will help you understand the material better as we get into it. There are 47 pages to read. If you count the number of days between now and Jan. 8, there are 26 days. There are 47 pages to read, so if you spread out your reading, this means approximately 1.8 pages per day. You ARE NOT expected to study the material, just read it.

Note: If you are unable to complete this homework, you ...

Michigan prosecutor's top ten list of video games to avoid for parents and children
_Mr. Buduhan Section for Parents By Roland Buduhan on Wednesday, December 12, 2007

Michigan prosecutor Kym Worthy released a list of the top (or bottom, depending on your viewpoint) ten video games parents should avoid purchasing for children this holiday season.

You can view the original press release of this list by clicking here.

Most of the games in her list have an ESRB rating of "M" or Mature.  Please remember that not all video games are intended for children.  Indeed, the average age of people who play video games is over thirty, so parents must be aware of what they are purchasing for their children.

Here is the list compiled by Kym Worthy:

  1. Grand Theft Auto
  2. Manhunt
  3. Scarface
  4. 50 Cent Bulletproof
  5. 300 The Videogame
