Michigan prosecutor's top ten list of video games to avoid for parents and children

Michigan prosecutor Kym Worthy released a list of the top (or bottom, depending on your viewpoint) ten video games parents should avoid purchasing for children this holiday season.

Most of the games in her list have an ESRB rating of "M" or Mature.  Please remember that not all video games are intended for children.  Indeed, the average age of people who play video games is over thirty, so parents must be aware of what they are purchasing for their children.

  3. Scarface

The future is now.

A hot topic being discussed among educators around the world is the notion of “one-to-one” computing.  Are we going to have a laptop computer for each student in our schools?  Will the “one hundred dollar laptop” become a global reality?  Is the technology becoming so inexpensive that anyone/everyone will be able to afford it?  In truth, all of these things have already happened, whether we like it or not!

Video Game Ratings: What you need to know

As the holiday shopping season is now upon us, I am sure that many parents are thinking about buying some new video games for the family, perhaps as gifts for children.  Many software companies wait until the winter holidays to release new games, and you will find there are dozens of new video games being released this month.

 

As you choose new games to purchase, keep in mind the ESRB rating of each game.
