Competition for the Nintendo 3DS???
Video games By Roland Buduhan on Thursday, January 13, 2011
It looks like the Nintendo 3DS is the most popular console in 2011, according to the survey I conducted earlier on this blog. We will have to wait a few months to see if it is as good as everyone says it is...

On another note, check out this new console called the "OpenPandora". The company just started selling it last year.

It is based on "Open Source" software. This means anyone can make games on it. You can install any software on it. It can "emulate" different gaming consoles. This means it can play Nintendo Gameboy games, Nintendo 64 games, and even really old NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) games. People have also figured out how to make it play old computer games, and really, really old games from the Atari 2600 and the ColecoVision.

Sounds great, right? There is a dow ...

What is the best video game console?
Video games By Roland Buduhan on Thursday, November 04, 2010
Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft used to be the major makers of video game consoles.
Then, along comes Apple...

and now there are many ways to play video games.
The XBox 360 is several years old, as is the Nintendo Wii, and Sony PS3.
There is a rumour that the Sony PSP will soon be replaced by a new cellphone.

In 2011, Nintendo will be releasing the replacement to the DSi, the Nintendo 3DS

What do you think will be the best video game console of 2011?

Cyber-bullying is when someone uses technology such as websites like Facebook or Twitter, or a cellphone, to be mean to someone else. Cyber-bullying includes posting insults, rumours, or embarrassing pictures about someone. This is a very serious problem right now, as victims of cyber-bullying can be hurt quite badly. If you know of cyber-bullying, tell a teacher or parent right away!

Did Bill Gates really say, "Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one"? Let's find out!
Internet awareness By Roland Buduhan on Friday, March 05, 2010

Did Microsoft founder Bill Gates really say the words:

"Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one."

Let's find out!

Use a search engine like Google or Bing (which is owned by Bill Gates) and find some sources of information.

For any website you find, look for who is the author. How can you be sure if the author can be trusted?

See if you can find the same information from more than one reliable/trustworthy source.

Who are some trusted sources? Major newspapers like the Globe and Mail, USA Today, or the Winnipeg Free Press are usually reliable (but they sometimes make mistakes too!) Also, you can usually trust news from television/radio stations like CBC, CNN, CTV, or Global Television.
