What is Bullying?

Bullying is negative, hurtful acts that are intentional and repetitive. Bullying Behaviour involves a misuse of power to cause physical, verbal or indirect abuse of another person.
Bullying behaviour usually has some of these characteristics:
Targets a weaker person
Involves an abuse of power
Negative, hurtful behaviour
Intentional and repetitive
Bystanders play an important role in bullying. Their mere presence is support for the bully if the y don’t intervene.

The peacekeepers are trained to help solve conflicts on the playground.
Anti Bullying Awareness
Classes get awareness in bullying and get training in problem solving and assertiveness training.

Students have made anti-bullying videos. They can be viewed on the SJR Portal in Mr. Buduhan’s blog.
Bullying Survey
Every year a bullying survey is conducted for Grades 3-5. For the last 3 years, bullying has decreased, especially in the areas of the playground and bathrooms.
