Drug Awareness

Constable Dave Tyndale delivered a presentation to the grade 5 students on drug awareness.

Constable Tyndale talked about the importance of delivering a presentation so early to students so that students are can get the real facts and know the sad reality of the harmful effects of drugs on your body.

The grade 5 students were surprised by some new information from the presentation:

“I learned is that you can get really sick even from medicine if you take too much.”

“ Your lungs get black when you smoke”

“that coffee was a type of drug”

“more people die from smoking then drugs and murders put together”

“people who take drugs get depressed”

“that beer is a drug.”

“ I was surprised that my mother was right.”

“ I was surprised that drugs looked like candy.”

“ I was surprised that selling drugs was illegal.”

“ that the brain could become damaged from drugs.”

“ I was surprised how many people die of drugs.”

“ I was surprised that drugs are least effective every time you use them.”

“ I learned that breakfast was the best meal”

“ once you take drugs you can’t stop.”

“ too much alcohol can kill you.”

“that drugs can be made at home.”

“that alcohol is a drug”

“that marijuana affects your memory.”

“ that nicotine is legal”

“that drugs mess up your life.”

“ I can’t believe how addicting drugs can be.”

“ that when you are addicted to drugs that is all you can think about.”
