Book Review: Hatchet by Gary Paulsen

Bryce

Hatchet is about a thirteen year old boy named Brian. When he is going to visit his dad who is working in the Canadian Shield the single engine plane he is in crashes. Now Brian has to survive while hoping somebody will find him. He only has his hatchet and a torn windbreak to help him. The hatchet plays a big part in the story. After he survived the crash he stays by the beach ware he crashed. While waiting to get rescued he has to go through all that nature can throw at him.

I think the author Gary Paul was trying tell us that anybody with the right knowledge and tools can survive in the wilderness because Brian always took every thing for granted and he didn’t care if he made a mistake when he was in the city but then it all changed for him.

What I liked about the book Hatchet was that it was very suspenseful and it always made you want to read more because at the end of each chapter it was usually a cliff hanger. I also like it because it was adventures.
